Oracle to assist Airtel for 5G rollout

With the launch of 5G as well as current 4G services in India, Bharti Airtel will receive a great deal of assistance from Oracle, a big cloud provider. Eight locations throughout the nation now have 5G Plus services thanks to Airtel. The company plans to introduce it in additional cities in the upcoming days. Oracle is assisting Airtel in its internal and external digital transformation, according to a report from IANS. Airtel customers can now enjoy 5G services without upgrading to a 5G SIM or purchasing a specific 5G recharge plan.

Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, and Nagpur are the cities where Airtel’s 5G service is available.

According to Prasad Rai, Vice President of the Global Strategic Clients Group at Oracle India, the two companies are collaborating closely to modernise Bharti Airtel as it moves from the 4G to the 5G era.

New cloud and data centre agreements were announced in November 2021 by Airtel and Oracle India. The Oracle Cloud products are now jointly marketed by the two businesses to enterprise customers in both public and private spaces.

Oracle is extending the capacity of its India (Mumbai) region with Extra by Airtel to meet the country’s rising demand for cloud services.

With 12 large and 120 edge data centres spread across the nation, Extra by Airtel has the largest network of data centres in India. Over the next four years, it will invest more than Rs 5,000 crore to triple its capacity to more than 400 MW.
