To launch a Center of Excellence at NIT Patna for telecom industry infrastructure building under the auspices of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) partnered with Chinese corporation Huawei on Monday (MSDE).
The MoU inked for a five-year period, aims to upgrade students to improve their employability through training in cutting-edge technologies, including locating possible supporting organisations for creating the necessary infrastructure at NIT Patna.
“By establishing high-end skill centres to meet youth demand, TSSC is meeting an urgent need. To equip our kids with cutting-edge skills like 5G and IoT, we need more training that is industry-aligned “Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior BJP leader, remarked.
The TSSC will formalise the accreditation procedure for instructors, conduct assessments of assessors, trainers, and trainees, and connect them to a network of teammates and industry contacts.
The centre will also house a B.Tech, Diploma, and Certificate industrial training facility. The centre will be turned over to NIT Patna after the MoU’s term is out.
Huawei will be a key collaborator that will assist us in aligning with future industry expectations, and NIT Patna will serve as the crucible for the students’ transformation, according to TSSC CEO Arvind Bali.
Harsh Khurana, executive director of Huawei India, stated that TSSC has a track record of identifying prime movers in the ecosystem and that the nation has enormous potential for producing quality trained individuals.
With projects like the NDCP and India’s smart cities, “we chose an advanced technology like IoT, taking into consideration the development potential of IoT,” he continued.
