Mavenir’s Converged Packet Core is Selected by Magyar Telekom

Magyar Telekom, the top Hungarian telecommunications service provider and a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, has chosen Mavenir, the network software provider creating the networks of the future with cloud-native software that runs on any cloud and transforms how the world connects, to deploy a cloud-native containerized Converged Packet Core.

The locally installed private cloud solution from Deutsche Telekom will be used by Magyar Telekom. Utilizing 5G technologies like low latency and network slicing, Mavenir’s containerized convergent packet core will provide the groundwork for swiftly and easily rolling out new enterprise apps and services.

“We needed to collaborate with a software provider that could produce on three main fronts: a Converged Packet Core to support all connect technology integration from 2G to 5G, an open architecture that might operate on our specified hardware and software platforms, and seamless integration with third-party network functions,” said Laszlo Boka, Platform and Core Services Tribe Lead at Magyar Telekom. We are excited about what the future holds for Mavenir, who is a perfect candidate for our support on all three fronts.

The cloud-native MAVcore portfolio from Mavenir, which includes the 5G Core solution, is built on an open architecture and enables hardware decoupling, agility, portability, and cloud-native resilience in addition to easy scaling of applications and services.

Important qualities include utilizing hardware specified by Deutsche Telekom and a platform built on Kubernetes.

Strict service level agreements are met through network slicing with dedicated control and user plane network services.

A stateless microservice architecture-based fully containerized solution known as cloud-native design enables better resilience and quicker recovery in the event of network failures. Additionally, it makes it possible for users to sign up for Deutsche Telekom Containers-as-a-Service quickly (CaaS).

Network function (NF) integration with third-party vendors – integrated with several third-party vendors, including subscriber and policy management functions, as well as 4G and 5G access networks (eNodeBs and gNodeBs).

Converged architecture: Allows all access technologies to function on a single, cloud-native platform provided by Deutsche Telekom and supports 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G non-standalone (NSA), and 5G standalone (SA) modes.

According to Ashok Khuntia, President of Core Networks at Mavenir, they’ve developed an agile software delivery methodology that caters to particular integration and feature requirements working with Mobile Network Operators internationally. By incorporating Mavenir’s Converged Packet Core into Magyar Telekom’s current network, a completely automated network with scalability, dependability, and flexibility to offer cutting-edge services will be made possible. Mavenir is glad to strengthen our partnership with the European subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom.
