Kapania will be replaced as Vodafone Idea’s chairman by Ravinder Takkar

Vi stated in an official statement on Wednesday that the board unanimously chose Ravinder Takkar to lead the VIL board beginning on August 19, 2022, and that it also granted Himanshu Kapania’s desire to resign as non-executive chairman beginning on August 18.

From August 19, Himanshu Kapania will be replaced as the chairman of Vodafone Idea (Vi) by Ravinder Takkar, the company’s chief executive.

Vi stated in an official statement on Wednesday that the board unanimously chose Ravinder Takkar to lead the VIL board beginning on August 19, 2022, and that it also granted Himanshu Kapania’s desire to resign as non-executive chairman beginning on August 18.

In his capacity as chairman, Takkar would use his extensive experience spanning more than three decades to lead the business, the company said. But Kapania will stay on the board of Vi as a non-executive director.

As of last month, Takkar would be replaced as the CEO of the telco by Vi’s chief financial officer, Akshaya Moondra. The losing telco, which has been struggling to turn around its operations while facing a severe cash shortage, has undergone three top-level changes in less than four years at that point.
