By Diwali, Jio will introduce 5G SA service in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata

Jio will deploy 5G services built on independent design in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, according to Reliance Industries Limited’s Mukesh Ambani. By December 2023, it will have rapidly grown to include all of India, which will take 18 months, claiming that this deployment of 5G will be the world’s quickest.

According to the RIL chairman, Jio will invest Rs 2 lakh crore in the development of its 5G network.

Jio 5G, which includes its original end-to-end 5G stack, will be the biggest and most technologically advanced 5G network ever deployed, according to Ambani. Ambani claimed that 2000 Jio engineers worked on the technology for three years.

Jio’s 5G network, he continued, will be completely independent from the 4G network and stand-alone.

Jio will be able to offer more advanced services including low latency, widespread machine-to-machine connectivity, 5G voice, Edge computing and network slicing, and metaverse thanks to 5G SA.

Jio is in discussions with all handset manufacturers, according to Ambani, to support its 5G SA service.

He said that the Jio 5G network is supported by Meta, Google, Microsoft, and Intel.
