For the 5G services on the Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio networks, Apple has handed out the beta update to 5G-enabled iPhones, allowing customers to try out the high-speed mobile broadband and provide feedback to the US smartphone giant.
The iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 series phones, as well as the iPhone SE, will all be compatible with the beta software upgrade (3rd Generation). Only individuals who have registered for the beta programme can access the update. According to those with knowledge of the situation, users who have an iCloud account linked to their Apple ID can join up for the beta programme to receive the update.
Users can provide feedback on the beta software’s quality and stability using the integrated Feedback Assistant app. This feature helps Apple in finding and fixing problems in preparation for the larger public deployment planned in December.
Apple advises running the beta software only on non-production equipment that is not business-important, and users are advised to back up their data on their iPhones before doing so.
Users will be able to access the 5G networks of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel in regions where the services are available by turning on the 5G option from the settings app thanks to the update.
In eight Indian cities—Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Varanasi, Siliguri, and Chennai—5G Airtel’s network is operational.
