5G phones under 15 thousand will boom louder

Smartphones with 5G capability in the Rs 10K–15K price range are the next significant battleground for phone manufacturers as telecom companies prepare for the service rollout, which is boosting the market for the most recent technologies.

The number of releases has already more than doubled from the previous year, and industry insiders predict that as the holiday shopping season draws near, the market will continue to heat up, giving customers more choices for future-proof gadgets.

According to industry insiders, there are still several problems, including rising inflation, higher input costs, and a lower rupee. According to analysts, to offer 5G handsets for less than Rs 15,000, several firms are also compromising on other requirements, such as display, battery, or memory.

There were just three types of 5G smartphones in this budget range available last year, but six new versions have already been introduced in August.

Popular eCommerce site Flipkart reported that the demand for 5G handsets priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 has quadrupled in the first half of 2022 compared to last year.

According to Counterpoint Research, even if it only accounts for 6% of the marketplace in that budget range as of the second quarter of 2022, 5G coverage has doubled from 3% in the last quarter of 2021. CMR estimated that it would be 4% in the second quarter compared to 3% in the first quarter.
